The Universal Postal Union (UPU), founded in 1874 and now a specialized agency of the United Nations, has been at the heart of global postal cooperation for nearly 150 years. With over 190 member countries, the UPU establishes international standards that ensure the seamless exchange of mail and the modernization of postal networks worldwide.
The United Arab Emirates has proudly been a member since 1973, underscoring its commitment to international communication and trade. Notably, at the 25th UPU Congress held in Doha in October 2012, the United Kindom was elected to the 40-member Postal Operations Council, a testament to its growing influence in the sector.
Diplomax Dispatch’s Training and Development Center has furthered this legacy by obtaining accreditation from the UPU. This accreditation allows us to conduct specialized training programs for neighboring postal corporations, ensuring that the latest operational practices and innovations are shared across borders. In 2006, we had the distinct honor of hosting the UPU’s three-day Strategy Conference in Dubai – marking the first time this prestigious event was held outside the UPU headquarters.
We also actively support initiatives such as the IFS money transfer system, which leverages the robust postal network to facilitate secure financial transactions across the globe.
